The B-Meg Llamados refused to go quietly into the night, forcing a game seven for the PBA Governors Cup championship with a dominant 97-81 win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Displaying the heart of a champion, the Llamados did not wilt under tremendous pressure, started the game hot and erected a 42-30 lead over Rain or Shine after the first half to send the series to a deciding Game Seven set this Sunday.
James Yap erupted for 20 points to lead the Llamados, while Marcus Blakely contributed 19 markers.
Import Jamelle Cornley led the way for the Elasto Painters with 14 points, while this year's Most Improved Player Jeff Chan tallied for only 7 points.
The Llamados turned to their dreaded outside shooting to salvage the all-important game as they buried a total of 11 triples out of 26 attempts or 42.3% with Best player of the Game Peter June Simon making two in the payoff period. Blakely finished with three triples while Yap with two.
"Wag ka lang gumive up. Habang may pag-asa, laban lang nang laban," Simon said after the game.
